Law Enforcement Call Off Hunt for Four-Year-Old Child Lost in Australia's Outback

Australian law enforcement have ended the operation for a young boy who has been disappeared in the remote area for approximately three weeks, after additional operations failed to locate any evidence of the youngster.

The young boy was spotted playing near his home on a isolated sheep station close to Yunta, about 300km from Adelaide, on 27 September.

His grandmother briefly departed for about half an hour before looking for him, only to realize the boy nowhere to be found, triggering one of the biggest ground and aerial operations in local past.

Latest Status

Authorities - who do not suspect criminal activity - say they will persist looking into, but that the case has become a "recovery operation".

Last week, police briefly scaled back the hunt, only to restart it on this week alongside eighty Australian Defense Force staff.

"This represents a trauma to our household and friends, and we are struggling to comprehend what has happened," the spokesperson said.
